History

 

Even though ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is a field which has a large number of professionals, our founder members identified that there were no any professional associations to represent them.

By the year 2002 the founder member got together and decided to form an association to fulfil that requirement. The association was formed as a Non Governmental Organization under the parliament act No. 31 of 1980 as amended by Act No. 8 of 1998. The founder members decided to maintain this association as a 100 % charitable organization which cater all professional issues of the Sun Certified Java Professionals in Sri Lanka. When the Association is formed there were very few Sun Certified Java Professionals in Sri Lanka, Because of the activities of the association leads to provide quite a large number of Sun Certified Java Professionals to the Country.

 

Mission

 

The main objective of the SCJPA is to establish professionalism in IT. Today SCJPA is the leading contributor for public & cooperate sector training in java technologies, Providing Java literature, authoritative publication and conferences to gain competitive advantage in global market.

 

Motto

 

The Motto of the SCJPA – RYMES states “ Raise Yourself to Make and Educated Society ”, hence it provides an exclusive life time financial benefit to members for their continuous learning purposes.

Goals and Objectives

 

1. Fulfil the professional issues of the Sun Certified Java Professionals in Sri Lanka.

2. Spread the value of Sun Certified Java Professionals in Sri Lanka among the community of the country through charitable work contributing financially and non financially.

3. Create a group of people with similar characteristics and requirements to make professionals society powerful.

4. To formulate a charitable society consist of members with highly updated knowledge.

5. Formulate a society to provide facility to share knowledge among the members of the association.

6. To organize various fun activities for the benefit of the members to build up relationships among the members.

7. To organize free seminars and workshops to promote Java technology among the learning society of the country.
